Oh my, I’m so excited about this sewing project. My progression with jumpsuits went like this: Jumpsuits are in style, really? Ok, I think I get it. Um, I want one of these now.
I have affectionately named my jumpsuit Vivian. All my other projects have names and I didn’t want my Vogue jumpsuit feeling left out. (I live life as if inanimate objects have feelings.) For this project I purchased a tangerine stretch sateen. I’m in love with the color. My eyes get real big and happy when I look at it. I purchased 3 yards and somehow it wasn’t enough. The extra fabric arrived last night and thankfully I won’t be too behind on my sewing schedule. I’m planning to use the rest of my leftover lining from my Arielle skirt for the top part of the jumpsuit. This is my effort to save money. However, I am thinking the lining might be too lightweight with this sateen. I’ll probably see if I have any of the lining from my Lilou dress leftover or I may just breakdown this weekend and buy new lining…we’ll see.
This is going to be a new experience for me…eek. But guys, I’m making a jumpsuit. And it’s going to have pockets! AND if all goes well I have a super exciting photo shoot planned.. but that won’t be until December, so don’t get too excited just yet.
I’ll leave you with these wise words from a movie I haven’t seen… ;)
“If you never do anything, you never become anyone.”
Here’s to Vivian and to doing things!
